Blame Game

This cartoon is untittled. In this picture there are two animals which represents Republicans and Democrats both blaming each other for the near shut down of the government. There is obvious tension between the two parties which in their thought bouble they are calling each other's rude names. This cartoon represent the event that took place when the two parties were unable to come into an agreement with the budget cuts.

Oblivious Obama?

This political cartoon was taken from Cagle.com and it was untittled. If this cartoon did have a title it would probaly be "Oblivious Obama", because in this cartoon Obama is at a basketball game, all his focus is on the basketball game while there are three romans in front of him, each one representing each of the three war that are happening right now. The author of this cartoon may not be too fond of Obama, since what he is saying that Obama do not care or notice the important issue such as warfare. The word which the roman with "Afghanistan War" is blood which symbolizes millions of lives lost in the war.

Obama Energy Policy

This cartoon is entitled "Obama Energy Policy". In this picture there is a car in the center that labels "Obama Energy Policy" On the left there is obama pumping up the tire, and one the right is an elephant which represent republicans is poping the tire. This event symbolizes Obama's policy about reducing oil imports by one third by 2025, but the other party is trying to keep that from happening.

Warfare and Welfare

This political cartoon is titled Warefare and Welfare. The title is somewhat very clever since Warfare and Welfare sounds completely the same yet very different. In the cartoon there is a general laying atop of a pile of money that's for U.S resources for endless warfare. On the right side there are two figure that represents social welfare, and 14 million jobless americans. While the General is laying on top of billions of dollars the two people on the right are in distress and has none. This political cartoon represent the american economy, we are going to war while there are many important issues that the government tend to push aside.

HELPING HAND

The title of this political cartoon is "Helping Hand". This title happens to be very ironic because in this picture the elephant who represents republicans is helping president Obama into a trap which represents Libya. In this cartoon Iraq and afghanistan are described as two traps that has already gotten both of Obama's feet and the third trap is Libya. This person is liberal because this message is to attack the republicans decisions with foreign affairs. This cartoon relates to the current political event because right now there is a big controversy happening in Libya.

NO-FLY ZONE

 

The title of this political cartoon "No-fly Zone" is a double play on words. In the picture there are flies but it also mean that there are no flying allowed thus, president Obama is riding on a whale. There are many small symbols that makes up this cartoon, one of the biggest being the whale. Which represents Middle East policy. The whale is dying, because it is on very dry and hot land, therefore it means that Middle East Policies is endanger of failing. The action that are taking place in the cartoon is that Obama is riding a whale out in the desert swatting down flies whom is harassing the whale a.k.a Middle East Policy. This cartoon is based on the perspective of a liberal, this message says that his middle policy right now is not as strong as it could be, also that it not very effective since there are no support(water) for the whale to swim in, instead it is getting harassed by the flies(critcsized). It is ironic that Obama is trying  to create a "No-fly Zone" when his vehicle is not doing so well.
